If your course has been funded by Training Services NSW under Smart and Skilled, you may be contacted by a Training Services NSW representative to discuss your experience at Western Sydney Institute.

This is an entry level course for people who work or want to work in the horse
racing industry. The stablehand works under the direction of a trainer or stable
foreman but is also able to act autonomously in certain situations requiring
solutions to a limited range of problems, or work as part of a team.

As a stablehand you can be employed in a thoroughbred racing stable
and your prime function will be to care for the animals and to meet their
individual needs of feeding, grooming, exercising and transporting; as well as
keeping the environment safe, clean and hygienic. In a thoroughbred racing
stable you will care for thoroughbreds.
