This course is for managers in the performance horse industry. Graduates will
be able to manage people and horses in stables, studs and places of competition.

The course prepares graduates so that they can manage the care of performance
horses and prepare them for competition, breeding or sale. This includes being
able to:
- manage the care of horses and their preparation for competition/show/sale
- manage the staff employed to care for and prepare horses
- manage the farm/stud where horses are kept
- manage business aspects of an equine enterprise.

Graduates will be able to work independently, take responsibility and provide
leadership to a team in a changing environment. In particular, they will be
able to manage people and horses in stables, studs and places of competition.

Students should have prior knowledge of various areas in the Horse Industry to enable them to complete this course.

There are no entry requirements to this course.
However, it is highly recommended that applicants have completed an equine
related Certificate III qualification e.g. Certificate III in Horse Industry
Practice or be able to demonstrate equivalent and current experience in the
horse industry.

Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with the teaching section when you enrol.

This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee.
